Collection: Herbal Tinctures

The old way, in a dropper bottle. Our herbal tinctures follow the traditional preparations our community has trusted for generations, made slowly, in small batches, from herbs we can trace by name.

Our four herbal tinctures

The two daily tinctures use a vegetable glycerin base, which is sweet-tasting and alcohol-free. The two traditional formulas use organic cane alcohol, which suits tougher roots, barks and resins like myrrh. Several of these herbs have deep roots in folk practice; mullein, for one, has a long record in traditional herbal care.

What is an herbal tincture?

A liquid extract of herbs, made by steeping them in a base such as vegetable glycerin or alcohol, and taken by the dropper. It is one of the oldest ways of preparing herbs.

How do I take a tincture?

One dropper a day with a meal, as each label directs. You can take it straight or in a little water.

Which tinctures are alcohol-free?

The Ashwagandha and Elderberry Soothe & Defend tinctures are made with vegetable glycerin and contain no alcohol. Thunder Cleanse and Tooth & Gum use organic cane alcohol.

Are your tinctures safe to take with medication?

Herbs can interact with some medicines, so if you take prescription medication or are pregnant or nursing, check with your doctor before starting any tincture.

Where are your tinctures made?

By hand in Holmes County, Ohio, in small batches, from herbs we can name on the label. Every bottle is produced in the USA to GMP standards.
